Learner’s projects showcased at a notable Greek archaeological venue, focusing on the underrepresented voices in the art community.

ATHENS, Greece — On the evening of Saturday, February 4, 2023, an air of accomplishment and pride filled the Association of Greek Archaeologists in Athens as 15 participants of the “Art Is Us” program, in collaboration with the Greek Art is Us team members – Art & Action Network, showcased their creative and innovative projects.

The visitors of Art is Us project, dedicated to supporting and amplifying underrepresented voices, witnessed a diverse range of projects presented by the Art is Us learners. These works, described as originating from the ‘field’, encapsulated, through digital and creative mediums, critical issues pertaining to diverse artist groups. Included among these were the Roma communities, refugee communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and artists of the Third Age.

This event presented a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative impact of the Art Is Us program on its participants. It not only highlighted the learners’ growth and proficiency but also underscored the program’s mission to foster an inclusive art community that gives voice to every artist, irrespective of their background or life circumstances.
